Synopsis

Carla is 14 years old and is a defiant and rebellious young woman. He lives in an old roadside restaurant on the outskirts of a town with his young single mother while he skips class and spends the hours with his friend Efraín. When the social worker realizes that she is five months pregnant, Carla enters ‘La Maternal’, a center for underage mothers where she shares her daily life with other young women like her. Together with their babies, they will face this new world of adults for which they have not had time to prepare.

Las películas producidas por Inicia Films han sido seleccionadas y galardonadas en numerosos festivales entre los que se incluyen “Reinas” de Klaudia Reynicke en coproducción con Suiza y Perú que se estrenó en Sundance 2024 y ganó el Grand Prix en Berlin Generation; “20.000 especies de abejas” de Estibaliz Urresola ganadora del Oso de Plata a Mejor interpretación protagonista, dos Premios Forqué, incluido Mejor Película, dos Premios Feroz, incluido Mejor película dramática y 3 Premios Goya 2024; “Sobre todo de noche” de Víctor Iriarte, estrenada en Giornate degli autori de Venecia y ganadora del Premio Feroz Arrebato de Ficción; “Las niñas” de Pilar Palomero con cuatro Premios Goya 2021, incluyendo Mejor Película; “Estiu 1993” de Carla Simón, Mejor Ópera Prima en la Berlinale 2017; “La Maternal” también de Pilar Palomero, ganadora de la Concha de Plata a Mejor Interpretación en San Sebastián 2022, “Unicornios” de Àlex Lora, con Premiere en Sección Oficial del Festival de Málaga; y “Teresa” de Paula Ortiz, estrenada en esta edición de Tallin.
